The Bird Series: the Genesis

Katrina has embarked upon an artist’s journey to capture in oil on large canvas the many ideas she collected over a long time whilst travelling, working, and studying how humans and the natural world interact and often clash. In this series of eight major artworks she has blended birds heads with humans to depict those many ideas and interactions with the natural world.

When asked how do you come up with these ideas?

Katrina responded: “I have all the current birds I have painted hanging on my walls and sitting on chairs and tables all around my studio and when I get stuck for an idea or how to complete a part of the latest bird, I walk around and ask the other birds what they think should do and do you like this latest addition to the series…. mostly they are pleased”

True to Katrina’s style these artworks are often beautiful and would sit well on a wall as a show piece, whilst other artworks in the series are certain to invoke interesting discussions amongst the viewers.

Each of the eight artworks are reproduced to the highest quality on canvas in limited editions that are signed and numbered by Katrina.
